Columbia, S.C.Eau Calire Cooperative Health Centers (ECCHC) received $500,000 over 2 years in Increased Demand for Services (IDS) funding to hire a family practice provider and a pediatrician and is already seeing the impact on services to children and adults in these trying financial times and high unemployment. ECCHC received $1.58 million in Capital Improvement Program (CIP) funding and has begun new construction replacing the original pediatric and adult practices, one of them from the health center's founding in 1981. -- Information provided by the health center
