NACHC Statement on the Passing of Linda Norris

The NACHC family today mourns the passing of Linda Norris who since 1994 served as the association's Director of State Planning and Special Projects. Linda died peacefully yesterday surrounded by family and friends.

A fierce advocate for social justice, Linda's long career reflected her deep compassion and personal commitment to working on behalf of those most in need. Prior to joining NACHC, Linda served as Deputy Director of the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial (now the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights).  She also served as Deputy of Human Resources at the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, as well as Human Resources Administrator at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services under the Dukakis Administration.

"Linda always worked tirelessly behind the scenes, helping us better understand and appreciate each other," said Tom Van Coverden, NACHC President and CEO.  "Most importantly, she helped all of us realize that it is only by working together, and learning to accept each others’ differences – that we can achieve great things.  For so many of us, it was Linda’s quick-wit, great sense of humor, and ready laugh that so endeared her to us, and helped us get through the tough times.  Her spirit will remain with us for a long, long time – and her smile will be sorely missed."
