National Health Service Corps:
What You Don’t Know Might Hurt You
November 7, 2012, 2-3:30 PM EST
Online Registration Deadline: November 5, 2012
Without a doubt, the ability to access and utilize the network of more than 9,000 National Health Service Corps (NHSC) clinicians represents a huge benefit for health centers. Health centers that participate as NHSC-approved sites can take advantage of recruitment and retention assistance, networking opportunities and technical assistance from their State Primary Care Offices to increase access to primary and preventive health care services for their patient. Participating as a NHSC-approved site does mean that the health center must comply with NHSC requirements. This webinar will discuss common concerns for health centers in complying with NHSC requirements and other issues that may present themselves when a health center employs NHSC clinicians.
The webinar is geared for health center administration (CEOs, CFOs, CMO’s) and other key staff. Time at the end of the webinar will be reserved to allow participants to ask questions.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this webinar, you will:
1. Understand NHSC site eligibility requirements and qualification factors;
2. Explain what NHSC site roles and responsibilities are vs. NHSC clinician roles
and responsibilities; and
3. Identify common issues associated with hiring and retaining NHSC clinician-employees.
